CITIZENS GUIDE TO PROMOTING BICYCLE- AND PEDESTRIAN-FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES
The 2014 Update for this guide is now available and has many additional resources for individuals, local organizations, community coalitions, neighborhood groups, the faith community and others interested in promoting and creating bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods and communities.
POTENTIAL PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE PROJECTS
The "Find It, Fund It" chart indicates potential eligibility for pedestrian and bicycle projects under federal highway and transit programs. In each case there are specific requirements that must be met within eligibility criteria and eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The table has been updated for the new transportation law, MAP-21. And look out for an interactive version coming soon. Created by Advocacy Advance, a partnership of the Alliance for Biking & Walking and the League of American Bicyclists to boost local and state bicycle and pedestrian advocacy efforts.
PARTNERS WORKING TO IMPROVE BICYCLING
We've developed a chart that explains who is working on or has influence on bicycle issues in our region. The chart also gives a summary of the role of each partner. It is exciting to see all the pieces working together!
