Thousands Play in the Streets at Inaugural Open Streets Knoxville

The first Open Streets Knoxville was a hit! Thousands of people strolled, wheeled or danced their way up and down a mile of Central Street on Sunday, October 25th.

National Bike Challenge

The National Bike Challenge is a nationwide event uniting thousands of current bicyclists and encouraging new riders. You can log miles ridden for recreation and transportation. Challenge yourself, your colleagues and the greater community to ride more. Users compete on local, state and national levels. The Challenge aims to unite 75,000 riders to pedal 35 million miles from May 1, 2015 until September 30, 2015.

We celebrated National Bike to Work Day with a free breakfast and awards on Market Square with more than 60 people attending! All day on May 15th, bike commuters could stop by participating businesses in the region for free coffee and other goodies. More info>>

Bike classes

Ride Smart – Urban Biking 101
It's a bike ride and a class all in one! This 1-hour casual ride will teach you where to ride on the road, how to negotiate intersections, and other tips to make you more confident biking in traffic. Email us if you're interested and want to find out when a class is available. $15 fee

Annual Holiday Bike Parade Delights Cyclists and Spectators Alike

As dusk descended on downtown Knoxville last Friday, more than 1,000 bicyclists—many decked out in holiday costumes—gathered in Market Square to await the start of the City of Knoxville’s 8th annual Tour de Lights bike ride. With festive spirit, snowmen, reindeer, elves, and even jolly ol’ St. Nick mounted their bikes, departed the square, and headed north.
