Welcome to our new AmeriCorps member

Welcome to our new AmeriCorps member, Hannah Kitterman! Hannah moved to Knoxville from Clarksville, TN to attend the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. She is a recent graduate and has a degree in English Literature and French. Some of her fondest memories of her time at UT were from her participation in the Pride of the Southland Marching Band as a squad leader.

Hannah looks forward to the year ahead as she assists with community outreach related to transportation and planning issues. This includes presenting information about sharing the road safely with bicyclists and pedestrians to all high school drivers education classes in the region. She will also manage the bicycle and pedestrian count and Bicycling Ambassadors programs.

“I’ve known many people, myself included, who have been in accidents because of a lack of awareness about these modes of transportation. This personal experience has made me passionate about educating people about bicycle and pedestrian safety,” said Hannah.

Hannah doesn’t have a hard time filling up what free time she can find. She loves outdoor water sports of all kinds, and can often be found kayaking. She also loves watching and discussing classic and independent films and cheering on the Nashville Predators and the UT Vols. She has plans to attend graduate school after this year, and is looking forward to working with the TPO as she finalizes those plans.
